If you have a lot of store content you might notice some lag but nothing game-crashing. Overall, there are a lot of variables when it comes to lag with the Base Game being the only constant. Expansions may also cause your game to lag as i see a lot of Sims 3 let's players comment on the lag and they have like all the expansion packs and stuff packs ever because it's part of their job (a lot of Let's Players i watch also do reviews as well as the Let's Plays). Because of the amount of store content i have in my game it will have a lag spike on occasion but never something so severe where the game crashes (those kinds of lags have been patched out ages ago also). I have some store content that was bought with hard earned money and i only ever bought store content on sale (when you get the DLC from the store on sale you can get amazing discounts or even get some sets for free if you have enough pieces in a set).
That's been patched out ages ago with the EA Patches.īut yeah, i think they patched differently from the get-go. In addition looking at some of the steam screenshots in the community hub i notice the naked glitch seems to happen a lot more to you guys with the steam version often without a blur. A lot of the patches EA released are pretty solid and repaired broken game elements (such as the launcher randomly deleting some of your installed items on extremely rare occasion back in 2012/2013). I have physical copies of my base game and a few expansions and all of them are registered with origin. I think it's been this way from the beginning. Regarding patches and stuff, the Sims 3 site says somewhere in the FAQ that the Steam verisons of the Sims 3 as well as the expansions patch differently.
